Taylor Black

Running coach for all fitness levels, from first-time 5K runners to seasoned marathoners.

Coach Taylor got her start with running after her high school soccer career. She joined a training group much like Sugarhouse Running, with the simple goal of finishing a 5K. Over time, Taylor trained up to marathons and triathlons, discovering a deep love for endurance sports.

With experience in both group fitness and run coaching, Taylor brings a holistic perspective to every athlete she works with. She is trained through the American Council on Exercise and the United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy. Taylor has also worked in running retail and race production, giving her a wealth of practical knowledge to support runners of all levels—from first‑time 5K finishers to marathoners chasing a PR.

PHILOSOPHY

RUNNING IS A GIFT, NOT A PUNISHMENT.

At Sugarhouse Running Club, I approach running as a gift—something our bodies can do to help us feel good. Not every run, mile, or rep will lead to a runner’s high, and that’s okay. My goal is to help runners learn the biomechanics and workouts that make running feel fun and sustainable. With these foundational skills and strong social connections, the miles start to go by quicker.
